"Nakhchivan" University registered by the Cabinet of Ministers, licensed by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan operates according to the general rules for student admission like all state universities.

For admission to "Nakhchivan" University, foreign students should apply online by entering the https://portal.edu.az/  link. Documents required for the application of foreign students:

• Certificate/diploma and grade list/transcript (translated into Azerbaijani and apostille)
• Original passport
• Health certificate (AIDS, Hepatitis B and C, translated into Azerbaijani)
• 3x4 photo (taken within the last 6 months)
• Language certificate (if available)
• Certificate of conviction (translated into Azerbaijani - Notary)
• Certificate of military service (translated into Azerbaijani - Notary)

All documents must be translated into Azerbaijani, certified officially, scaned and uploaded to portal.

• Letter of intent for Master's and Doctorate candidates

Foreigners and stateless persons, unless other circumstances are provided for in the current legislation and interstate agreements, may be admitted to magistracy only for paid specializations.

Foreigners and stateless persons take an exam related to the language they will study at "Nakhchivan" University. A student admitted to "Nakhchivan" University is exempted from the exam if he/she presents a relevant certificate related to the language of study.

Foreigners and stateless persons who studied in Azerbaijani language at the previous level of education can continue their studies in Azerbaijani language at "Nakhchivan" University without taking a language exam. If the student does not have a language certificate, he or she spends 1 year or 6 months preparing for the language to be studied.

The right of foreigners and stateless persons to study in doctorate and dissertation

1. The education of foreigners and stateless persons through doctoral studies and theses is carried out on the basis of contracts concluded directly by legal entities and natural persons in accordance with international agreements to which the Republic of Azerbaijan is a member.
2. The education of foreigners and stateless persons in doctoral studies and dissertations is conducted on a paid basis. The annual tuition fee is determined by the institutions to which higher education institutions and scientific organizations are subject, according to the characteristics of education. In exceptional cases, higher education institutions and scientific organizations can carry out admission free of charge based on the consent of the institutions under which they are affiliated.
3. For foreigners and stateless persons educated in foreign countries, a notarized copy of the diploma of higher education and a certificate of recognition of the diploma must be submitted.
4. Foreigners and stateless persons take an additional doctoral exam in the subject "Azerbaijani language" during the course of doctoral study and dissertation.
5. Admission of foreigners and stateless persons to doctoral studies in higher education institutions and scientific organizations, as well as their education, are carried out in accordance with these Rules and the applicable legislation.

Note: Documents of foreigners with dual and Azerbaijani citizenship will not be accepted.
